On my way to going FBO...

I have recently been putting a lot of thought into going FBO since Cobb Stage 2 dropped and I am beginning to make my purchases as good deals pop up in the FS threads. I have the Stett CAI inbound to me and I have been looking at the ETS and Helix intercoolers as I am looking for a factory fit without trimming. My plan is to run the Cobb Stage 1+ FMIC when it is released, which I understand will be soon.

I know that I will still need to pick up DP's but my concern is my exhaust. I have a Dinan axle back exhaust and was concerned as to whether or not the Dinan exhaust will be a good option for the mods mentioned. I love the sound of the exhaust as I am not looking for anything that is obnoxiously loud. Right now I have the factory exhaust to the axle with the Dinan Free Flow's clamped on.

Do any of you have any suggestions for a custom exhaust option so I can plan out the rest of my bolt ons while keeping my Dinan axle back?

AR Resonated downpipes is the only thing that I can think of that may help you reach your goal.

just get catless dps or resonated . you still have your secondary cats in place.

Would the factory exhaust pipes going from the DP's to the Dinan Free flow allow enough flow or would there be too much back pressure?

Cool. So roughly another $1,500 and I'll be good to go

Good advice.... I think the resonated pipes will give you the performance you want without being too loud.

Running resonated downpipes is like riding a bike with training wheels, it seems alright at first, but then you realize that they're holding you back and you need to get them the hell off. Just opt out for some catless dp's, you wont regret it.

Check with Cobb to make sure you don't need a catback exhaust for thier stg2. I have AR catless dp's and a vanguard exhaust and it sounds great. Some may consider it a little loud, I actually did at first, but then I got used to it. I get compliments all the time!

Their website recommends it but does not require it.

Are you in a rush? If not keep a eye on the for sale threads in the local section.....I looked for 2 months last year and found a used set of AR dp's and a AMS IC for half the price of new. People are always parting out here because many people leased thier vehicles or just get tired of them.

Not really. I just missed out on a used intercooler last night for $175.00 less than new from ATS. I will keep my eyes open for the DP's though. I am kind of in a hurry to get the FMIC and intercooler on so I'm ready when Cobb releases the Stage 1+FMIC tune.

resonated downpipes are fully catless..they dont restrict flow at all..they just have built in resonators to quiet the noise..they would be ideal to the OP as they offer the straight through flow and give him the performance he wants, all the while keeping things a little less raspy. only bad thing about them as they cost a few hundred bucks more than a standard catless pipe!

Your car looks badass man. If you want power the best mods are tune + Meth with catless downpipes.

btw what is FBO?
