Oil Level decreasing.
Did an oil change on October 1st @ 68966 miles.
Got all my oil and filters from local BMW shop. This is my second time doing the oil change. First time went fine. Oil levels were fine for a few weeks. This past week I noticed the level was down to about 3/4s. Today it is down to about 2/5s. Currently @ 70,996 miles Nov 3rd. I have extra oil in case of emergencies. I DON"T remember using a torque wrench. I remember I made it really tight tho, but nothing too crazy. Im no body builder. I don't see any drips in my garage. Any thoughts before I take it to the local shop? Will BMW charge me an arm and a leg to check for leaks? Any thoughts? Should I just ramp it up again and torque it? How many lbs of pressure do I need? Thanks |

How much oil did you put in? Did you short fill it or did you put all of what was reccomended.

My 07' 335 seems to burn through oil. I've had it since may, and have had to add almost 2 quarts. From everyone I talked to it's kind of normal.

I put in 6.5 quarts of oil. It checked out okay and was right at the maximum line. Not over, but right at the recommended line.

BMW vehicles do burn oil more than other vehicles. That's what i was told by the dealer when I first got my car! I did freak out when my oil level dropped after only 3 weeks of it being replaced.
