Using only the mufflers from the AA exhaust? Thoughts

I have a full Active Autowerke exhaust but am contemplating only using the mufflers.

Anyone ever done this on an e90? With replacing the mufflers only (assuming it will hook up to the stock piping) I would keep the e90 resonator and the secondary cats which I hope would reduce drone and smell but still give me a little bit more of a throaty exhaust.

Any comments on this idea? Feels like a bit of a waste of a full exhaust but at least this way I should avoid the dread 2-3k drone with the auto transmission.

I would sooner pick up 2 vibrant mufflers or any other muffler company and have those welded into the stock exhaust.

I agree.

If I didn't already have this kit sitting here I would not even consider it. I just know full catless is going to drive me nuts.

It would be a sin to cut up that exhaust

Sell it and get some aftermarket mufflers.
