Increased cabin vibrations

Has anyone experienced increased cabin vibrations because of their diesel engine? My 2011 335d has started an annoying dash rattle where the dash pad meets the gauge cluster. I tried tightening the screws on the top of the gauge cluster with no effect. I think it actually made it worse. If I push down on the top of the dash pad, the noise stops.

I dont hear it on acceleration, but when I'm slowing down and at a stop light/sign in D with my foot on the brake. The vehicle is going in for servicing next week, so I'll have them address it then. But I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this and what their solution has been outside the dealer.

I've been noticing a very slowly oscillating vibration at stop lights and drive through. Probaby at a rate of like 10 per minute. Sound similar?

I can hear something - passenger corner by the windshield. Very faint and only when the radio is off.

No creaking at all in our 330d. Hope you get it resolved, I can imagine your frustration!

I just noticed the vibrating noise in front of my dash in between the gauge cluster and the windshield today. It is only when I am idling around 650rpm and then again cruising at around 1250rpm... hmmm

so, cptcrunch and I have the same annoying noise.

cptcrunch: if you figure out what it is let me know. Whenever I take my car in next I will get it looked at but for now it's not the end of the world... just annoying.

Occasionally our d gets a much less severe version of that weird pressure fluctuation you get with just the rear windows cracked. The kind that makes your ears feel like they need to pop. I'm not sure if it's a drive line vibration, aerodynamics being around traffic or just chassis harmonics on certain road surfaces. It's not very consistent.

The good news is I don't have any interior creaks and rattles.

Sorry, I guess we forget that some of out fellow members might be deaf. Maybe you could have a fellow member check your car for noises.

Hmmm, disappointing. I'll let everyone know what my SA says Tuesday or Wednesday, whenever I get the car back.

Finally got the 335D back, had to send it back twice for the dash pad rattle. They tighten the top 2 bolts on the first visit even though I told them that I already did that. On the second visit they installed a foam pad between the gauge cluster and dash pad and it sounds solid.

I need to take mine in to have something like this done. It's really annoying and I only have 20,000 left on the warranty...so better get the process started before it's up.

try loosening the screws and re tightening them but not tight at all. you'd be surprise how NOT tight bmw puts a lot of screws esp on interior so that they have some flex room. so sometimes it's too tight already and can cause a rattle. worth a shot ..

I also get a vibration when idling, 330d.. Stops when i just touch the "aluminum" panel between the steering wheel and air vent.. Probably needs some tightening/padding?
