You'll have to do some searching, and most of the info on E85 is out there on the web; not so much in this forum. I've been running a 60/40 mix for a little while now, and my car is a monster on map 6 and 7. The biggest thing you have to watch out for is running lean. I had to do some extensive logging to get the fuel additive correct on the JB4, but once it's right, watch out!!! :0) One of the things I learned through all my research is that you actually need more fuel in the midrange rpm than WOT due to the cooling of the cylinder temps with E85, which are around 3x better than regular fuel. The stock pump and injectors on the N54 are big enough to run E85, but you don't want to max them out. I started with a 70/30 mix (E85/91), but found that I was pushing the limits of the fuel supply, and toned it down to 60/40. On average it takes 20-25% more fuel to run ethanol, so my fuel mileage really took a dump, but the power output is well worth it!! E85 is around 105 octane, so on a 60/40 mix your right @100 octane. Lucas also makes a product that you can add to your fuel that fights the semi corrosive nature of ethanol, and I highly recommend that.

When I'm done with all my testing I plan on putting up a post with all the info I've picked up, some logs, and some fuel additive settings for the JB4. Spend some time searching the web, because you don't want to just jump into it and end up burning a hole in a piston from running lean!!! But, like I said, when it's right, it's just f'n awesome, and @3.25 a gallon, it's the best alternative to race gas that I've found. GOOD LUCK!!

Damn you run 60/40 E85 to 91 ratio?! Wow, my car likes it best when its 50/50. 20whp from those dyno graphs may not seem much, but like you said, on the road it feels like a much different animal. Gas mileage definitely took a shit (about 20% mpg loss), but I don't care as the performance enhancements are so worth it for me.

Been running this mix straight for the past 3 months and enjoying every bit of it!

60/40 with 91!!! I only wish I had access to 93!! I also found that it feels like the car runs better when you mix with 91/93. Tried a mix with some 100 octane and E85, but it just didn't run as well. I wish I would had logged some runs with the 100 to to back up my statement, but alas, I didn't. My butt dyno tells me that 91/93 works better with E85 than race gas. That's fine by me though considering 100 octane is $7 a gallon around here!!

There's a quote from one of the articles in this link that basically says the most efficient way to run E85 is with a direct injected, high compression, forced induction engine. What is the N54? A direct injected, high compression, turbo charged engine. It's like the N54 was made to run E85

Anyone run into issues with deposits forming from running E85? I've herd of some other platforms seeing dark, tar-like deposits after just a few tanks...

JB4, Raceland downpipes and Helix FMIC are my only modifications. Still sporting stock intake and stock exhaust as shown in the video provided. And no, I haven't had any dark tar like deposits from using this combination for 3-4 months straight.
