Dyno Results - FBO + Rev3v5 + PWM ... Map 0, 1, 4 comparison

Hi Folks,

Long time no post/chat ... 3rd kid and a new startup doesn't leave time for anything else.

Here's my mod list:
- see signature ... new changes listed below
- PWM meth kit (75/25 mix)
- Procede v3 running the latest firmware and aggressive maps
- 91 octane with a splash of 95 ... Probably around 93 octane

The dyno was at the Mustang Ranch in Santa Clara, CA. It was a 2WD dynojet that was lifted off the ground and they had a very impressive cooling fan for the intercooler and radiator. They use a tailpipe mounted AFR sensor.

The Goal:
- see how much power each of the maps generated (map 0,1 and 4)
- see if there were any issues map switching quickly between runs

Some Conclusions:
- I am making more power and torque than before using less boost and lower octane (this was with old meth kit and Rev2) ... I need to dig up the old dyno plots, but I was peaking at 420-ish whp with 430-ish torque on 110 leaded, 20 psi and 100% meth
- map 0 seemed to be richer AFR (by about a point) than my stock tune
- mapswitching between runs didn't make the AFR go wonky or anything strange ... It seemed very steady.
- Very consistent run to run performance regardless of running back to back or giving it a minute for cool down (but i saw this before)
- Map0/stock(with FBO) 299whp
- Map1 (93oct): 391-395whp
- Map4 (93oct+meth): 430-433whp

Thanks for reading ...

I'm surprised you're gaining so much between map 0 and map 1 and "only" 40 hp or so between map 1 and 4. Seems to me that you are taking full advantage of your mods and running the optimal boost on map 1, but that you might be able to push it a little more with meth. What boost are you hitting with each map?

Brey335i - I don't have the logs on me ... i'll check them out tomorrow, but i think i was peaking out at 17psi and then tapering down to 11-12psi at the top. Its the aggressive map ... completely unmodified.

Jeff - the baseline dyne is with FBO and Map 0. So not 100% baseline (i.e. stock with no mods)

SIKH335 - I just noticed your post too ... I thought we were close in car output, but now I notice I'm considerably down on power (your numbers had HFC and mine is completely catless). You need to lose those things and run your car at the track.

If its the 10/18 beta maps and you have not modified the maps then its probably boost 18-18.5. Maybe procede turned it down because of the cool temps outside. I've logged 18.5 tapering to 13 uptop on stage 2 10/18 maps.

Very impressive results yet again for FBO+PWM meth. Must feel great seeing those numbers on your car.

That's what I'm seeing on my P3 boost gauge.

Nice results Junkie . I'll go through all your logs and post the relevant ones up later today. I assume that they match up numerically with your dyno run files?

Also, your map0 runs are now identical to the stock tune runs. Unlike older Procede maps, the newest aggressive maps/fw don't effect AFR targets in Map0.

When are the maps getting a general release? Will the aggressive maps work with the PPS meth kit?

Nice numbers!

I know. Its sort of an inside joke cause the last dozen dynos that have been posted have been missing baselines, atleast the majority have.

Let me know the next time you hit the track I will come out. I'm just working some suspension bugs out but should be ready soon. I was catless but didn't like the smell. These cars feel great congrats again for solid numbers.

The maps are ready to go. I'll be posting them up once I finish the docs. There is some new stuff going on now and I want to document them properly before release.

The new aggressive maps will work with a PPS meth, just not as well/consistently based upon the logs that I've accumulated over the beta testing period.

Cool. Thanks. Unfortunatley, the PWM kit has been sitting in my garage for months, due to back surgery recovery. Might have to wait 'til spring before I give installation a shot. Really prefer to install myself so I know it well.

Yes, definitely install it yourself when you are fully recovered. You'll find that it will work better than your PPS kit. With come "on" a whole lot faster and stop/reduce flow when it needs to (high rpm near redline, gear changes, traction control events, etc,.). You will use less meth (which means less fuel trim swings) and have better resistance to knock.
