WTT: My style 195 reps w/tires for your OEM 161’s w/tires
These have been traded 5-12-2007 Wheel and tire details: Style 195 replicas with Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S Front: 18x8 +34 offset with 225/40/18 Rear: 18x8.5 +37 offset 255/35/18 Here is a link to where I purchased them with more details on the wheels (This ebay link is NOT MY SALE, I'm just using the link to illustrate what wheels I'm selling.) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-8-...QQcmdZViewItem I would like to trade with someone in the Pacific Northwest. I am willing to trade straight across for your OEM 161 style wheels and run-flat tires if your tires have low miles, otherwise trade + cash to me, depending on the mileage on your tires of if you only have wheels. I don’t want to trade if your wheels have scratches or curb rash. My wheels and tires are brand new. They were mounted on the car for two weeks and less than 300 miles. No scratches or curb rash. Blank center caps included (your BMW center caps and lug bolts will fit these wheels). These tires and wheels do not have in wheel TPMS sensors, as I have a car that uses the “rotational method” for TPMS. The BMW sensors do fit these wheels if you need to use them, but you would need to have them installed. I paid $1,900 including sales tax, mounting, balancing and shipping. The car handles and rides better on these tires than on the OEM run flats and the wheels look great on the car IMO. Unfortunately, these tires conflict with my xi – I learned the hard way that AWD models are extremely finicky about staggered tires and this setup conflicts with my DSC. Accordingly, I want to go back to a stock setup. PM me if interested. Last edited by douger; 05-13-2007 at 08:35 AM.. |

Whoa, I too, have an XI and was just about to take a plunge in buying a staggered setup when I came across your thread....what were the symptoms of the issues you were experiencing? Thanks for any info

Oohh... and they're all-season's too. Would you be interested in trading for my OEM 17's with < 2000 miles? I would keep my TPM sensors.
Here is a pic with them on my car.

Very tempting p166 -- I like your wheels. Are those 185's? I would seriously consider this but I don't think my wheels will work on your car, as it is an xi. This particular staggered tire set up does not work on my xi (that is why I want to trade) so I would expect you would have the same problem. I need to trade with someone who has a RWD car. Thanks for checking though. BTW, nice car!

It's not that staggered cannot go on an xi, it is that THIS staggered tire combo cannot. xi's are more sensitive to different tire diameters (which all staggered set ups have) and this one is simply too much for my xi to handle.

Whats the diff? Im not trying to be rude but you are 100% wrong with your statements. That set up is completely fine with an xi.

Guys -- please, do not highjack this “I want to trade wheels” thread into a “what wheels work on an xi thread” If you want to comment on that, I would love to hear from anyone who has FIRST HAND experience in putting non-oem staggered tires on an xi. I invite you to add such comments to the following thread which is referenced above (but I will reference it one more time below). Trust me guys; I researched this until the cows came home and what I found is in the thread below. Just to be clear, it is the tires, not the wheels. If you don’t believe me, and want to come over and put my wheels and tires on your xi – you are welcome to do so. If I sound frustrated by this experience, it is because I am. I hope I do not sound rude – as I do not mean to, so please do not take it that way.
Thanks. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58337 |

May be you should buy another set and try to sell the replica's? Might be easier that way..... Good Luck!

Thanks TTG -- I want to keep my 159's as I want both a winter and summer setup. I have not tried 189's on my car. I would consider selling the replicas and may offer them up if I cannot find a trade. Are you interested?

195's are very very nice as well but I think your wheels would be out of my price range....

Thanks, Douger. Very good wheels and tires. I took the car to Seattle tonight, and the wife was happy with the quietness of the tires :-)
