Nice! Was thinking about trying this soon. Good to know it will work.

I suspect the legacy laptop issues while running on battery had to do with power saving settings.

I'm pretty sure it does. Apple seems to be the only company that doesn't have USB ports on their tablets.

Yes.. You can see the USB cable plugging in on the left side. For those curious, the tablet is by ExoPC.

I have a netbook running XP connected to a Rev. 2.5 and all the power management is turned off so it doesn't shut down in the middle of a data log, but the app locks up and until I unplug the usb cable the tool bar is not available. I can then plug it back in and reconnect, but it pisses me off when it disconnect in the middle of a 1/4 mile run and I can't review the logs. If it works well with the Windows 8 Tablet, I need to start looking for a dash mount kit so everything is at my finger tips.

And do you mean windows 7, because i can't find in the market any windows 8 tablet!

Tablets running windows have a locking option that allows you to lock the machine after x minutes (just like pc's). iPads also have the option of not locking the screen.

Win8 has not been released however you can download the developer preview (pre beta). It's pretty stable for its milestone.

Cool work OP. I'm running it on one of my desktops. I might have to see if I can find a cheap pc to run it on.

Does the procede software support the tablet resolution or you must make some settings?

A typical resolution among 10" tablets is 1024x768. It looks fine in that resolution, as do most websites and applications. Most website developers develop to that resolution and have been doing so for the last 8 years or so.
