Anyone have a hookup with an Arai dealer?

I'm looking for a deal on a new GP-6S M6 SA2010 helmet in size large.

Thanks

have you tried one on before at the store? Arai fits a different shaped head...i tried on an Arai and it felt uncomfortable and my chin was sticking out...i went with a Shoei X-11 and felt great in it, crash test certified...still alive

sorry my post did nothing to answer your question...

I haven't tried on the GP-6 but I own an Arai Corsair V (L) for my street bike and an Arai VX-Pro3 (L) for my dirt bikes and I love them both! I actually use my Corsair V for track days in the M3 but it looks like some of the events that I run in are outlawing MC helmets for use in cars.

lol, yes..

I'm just fishing to see if anyone has a serious hookup or at least knows of a vendor that sells under the acceptable range.

When I bought my other helmets I was able to find an ebay shop that was blowing them out for way less than anyone else but they are no longer around.

I don't have my store any more or I would hook you up, I might open another in the late winter not sure yet if you can wait.
I only own and will only wear Arai but the problem for dealers is they are so fucking expensive to stock and their margins suck when compared to other brands with the exception of Shoei which is just as expensive.
For each Arai I have on the shelf I could have 3-4 scorpions or 10 of some off brand that people buy because they put zero value on their head

Years ago I would stock about 20 or so Arai's and 20 or so Shoie's and about 200 hundred others from various brands, Scorpion, HJC, etc.
Arai prevents discounting current models online, so you are only going to find last years models being sold, and as far as margins their is only 25-30% in them so it's hard to get a good discount .

Your best bet is visit the dealers in your area for open houses this fall or black friday sales and see if you can get one then if they have them in stock

Thanks for the info! I don't really need to buy one until feb so if you get back in business by then let me know. I'll look around locally but hardly anyone around here stocks Arai and I've never seen an Automotive helmet locally.

I'm sure there are plenty of differences. But I remember my 1st driving instructor telling me that a motorcycle helmet is designed for 1 impact. An atuo helmet is designed for multiple impacts. This might be an over-simplification though.

That's most of it. Also MC helmets aren't fire resistant because it's difficult to be trapped inside a burning motorcycle.

Any helmet that has had any type of impact is and should be trashed, the only thing that would make sense out of your instructor's statement is if you were in the impact but the helmet didn't touch anything.

In some of the seminars I have seen x-rays of what appear to be perfectly good helmets,They are full of stress fractures

No no,
I meant that 1 impact from the type of crash. Motorcycle wrecks such as falling off create 1 impact. I see how my original response looked. I didn't mean that you can reuse ANY helmet b/c of how many impacts it can withstand.

Auto helmets are designed for multiple impacts from the type of crashes they experience. (rollovers, pinball effects on track, etc)

I hope that clarifies my 1st response
