Please help a newbie!....e92 m3 lsd fit 335i?

Hi guys,

I'm quite new on here having recently bought a 335i auto coupe and this forum so far has been absouletly spot on and many hours of reading have been learning alot.
I come from a modifiying background an have modded all my past cars which include a 600hp+ hks supra 6 speed single turbo, R33 gtr, 200 sx (x2), evo's etc etc but have more recently (past 6 years) been a hardcore bmw fanatic and left the japs behind.
Have had 2 e46 m3's over the past 5 yrs which have been great cars and a pleasure to own.

Love the 335i but hate the fact it has no lsd and its really winding me up!

I have access to 2x e92 m3 lsd's (cheapish) and have seen threads were a few folk have managed to fit these onto the 335i.
I am looking for some info regarding mods needed to fit i.e..if the driveshaft/prop needs to be cut and shut etc but have managed to find nothing so far.

Please guys, if u can help with any info please do and will be much appreciated.

From what I read, you need to cut the driveshaft, the rest will fit.

Thanks for the reply mate.

So basically would need original 335i propshaft and also a e92 m3 one and get a fabrication place to join them together?

So the original 335i driveshafts will fit the e92 m3 diff without any mods?

Anyon know how it affects the gearing on a auto?

Sorry for all the questions but this is probably the best place to ask as i know there are some very knowledgble folk on here.

its probably quite a bit cheaper to get a WaveTrac or Quaife LSD than deal with a custom fab, but a few members have managed to use an M3 diff. SEARCH!

Thanks for the response guys..............found the thread!

Seems like all i would need would be the diff, both drive/sideshafts which fit straight into the 335i hubs and the front half of the m3 propshaft which will fit the 335i one but will need shortenening slightly and re-balancing.

I have a diff for very cheap, so if i can find the rear driveshafts and propshaft cheapish will go ahead and have a go lol!
