Trunk Size?
I downloaded the catalog brom BMW.COM for the new 3-series and it says that the "luggage capacity" is approximately 480 liters. To the Americans, that is close to 17 cubic feet. Does this make sense as the E90 was closer to 12 cubic feet. Maybe they're talking more than the trunk itself?

To answer my own question, I looked at the specs for both the F30 (for some reason indicated as the 2011 model) and the E90 on BMW.COM. While it does say that the "luggage capacity" on the F30 is 480 liters (17 cu ft), it also shows that "luggage capacity" on the E90 as 460 liters. Obviously, "luggage capacity" is not trunk size. I'm not even sure if it will be larger because they've indicated that the F30 is longer than the E90 but that it has been given to the back seat for more room. If the "luggage capacity" includes the folded down back seats, there is no guarantee that the trunk is larger, it may be just the back seat being bigger by 20 liters.
