Custom oil cooler

I am in the process of getting an oil cooler set up for under $450. I ordered a setrab 625 cooler and I'm getting my factory oil cooler line cut in half then fitted with a metric to an10 connection to mount to an in line 200 degree thermostat. I can't wait to get factory line modified, then all I got to do is get a thermostat and two hoses to connect the oil cooler to the thermostat.

That was a pretty good DIY boom, how is the cooler working for you?

It worked great for the several months I had it. No leaks and my temps never got over 245. That car was totalled unfortunately so nothing longer term than 4 months.

The factory oil distribution block already has a thermostat in it, 110 deg C IIRC. 200 F is too cool. Hot oil, cool water. You want to see 220 - 240 F oil out of the cooler into the engine. Remember the oil condition sender measures the oil temp in the pan, not after the cooler.

Are you adding a second, parallel or serial cooler? Or changing the stock tiny cooler to a Setrab 625? Where you gonna put it?
