doin DP install as we speak need help..
So I'm installing cpe catless dp's on my 335i N54..
How much room should be between were the dp meets the ehxuats? By the bolts,, I have about 2 credit cards worth of room between them.. Is that normal? |

As long as they're not rubbing, you're fine.

There should be almost no gap after the bolts are tightened...If there is then you are going to get a helicopter exhaust leak type of sound..Release the rear exhaust bracket so there is room to slide the back part of the exhaust upwards to close that small gap and then retighten the back exhaust bracket.

I'm glad you got it done. There is a sense of accomplishment in installing your own mods. I changed my dp's in the middle of the Tx summer. Won't ever make that mistake again.

DP's are a tough DIY. As long as you got them in tight and they aren't touching you should be ok. Just make sure you don't have the clamp in the way of the wastegate arm/bolt. I made that mistake and had to basically do it all again to fix it.

Yup i double checked. i actually took pics of the sensors and the way the clmaps were on the Stock DP's then when i threw the catless CPE's on, i looked at the picture and just position the same way, everything running great. Thanks to everyone for the help. |
