People with completely CATLESS exhausts, PLEASE chime in.

I have DPs on my car, and then got the secondaries removed as well. After i did that i noticed very little white smoke at idle, and then a white puff here and there when coming to a stop. But this does NOT always happen, it happens randomly. Are all of you guys getting the same problem?

PS- im not trying to annoy anyone, but i just want to know whats going on.

I don't have white smoke.

ya its a normal thing for me lol. Some people say its a sign that turbo seals are bad or something with the turbo or the tune, but i've been running like that for about 20k now and my car still runs STRONG. i did try putting a piece of paper at my exhaust to see if there was any oil residue and there was none so i know for sure it aint burning oil but i may be wrong. hope my situation helps.

Forgot to add. i've tried running Catless dp with stock exhaust and there is no smoke at all.

I do...a decent bit. Only when that final roll to a stop.

I followed dzenno's advice (he has smoke on RB's) I went from Mobil 0-40 to the "super duper" castrol with titanium 5-30...seemed to help a little. Also, When I put it in DS instead of D, I get WAY less.

It is oil...no doubt, but my guess is that it has something do with the vacuum/backpressure in the exhaust at low rpms/load on engine. Turbos seems to be working fine though.

This is a sign that you are most likely burning oil, prolly from the turbo seals..far too often people assumes the smoke is caused by being catless but they are wrong..Cats just mask the oil burning and scrub the smoke..it doesnt mean it isnt happening..its just hidden...when you go catless it is revealed.

With that said I have been fully catless for almost a year w no smoke at all.

We have to keep in mind that the smoke could also be water condensation.

Boom. ^^this.

OP -

Do you have fully divorced exhaust lines (i.e. AE Exhaust)?

My car started smoking on the drivers side line when my turbos were starting to go. They boosted fine, I didn't ever notice any smoke until I was catless, basically because the cats were doing their job.

I'm catless now with the new turbo's.. no other changes and I have no smoke. My guess, unfortunately... is your seals. It doesn't mean you have to replace them or anything, just monitor your oil and keep it in mind. I replaced mine because the wastegate rattle was freaking unbearable and the D/S line, or the front turbo, smoking when it happened was like a smoke bomb went off.

Mine did it only occasionally at idle.

Here's a vid;

Lol.. haven't watched this in a while. Listen to how ridiculous my wastegate is when the rpms start to drop.

I'm sure these people were just looking out the window wondering what the hell this kid was doing revving his car in front of their house.

im so confused with mixed results lol...but my smoke is no where near the videos you guys posted. i have an x-pipe in place of secondaries..and it smells like a 2 stroke engine..i havent been losing any oil, i been keeping an eye on oil levels, unless its a VERY small amount..i will just stay as is right now, and if i cant bare it, then i may slap the secondaries back on..

Thanks everyone...

Sorry but did you remove all of your mods before going to the dealership?
