Clunky Clutch, Hard Shifts
I'm slightly worried about the old girl. Lately it seems like shifting is getting really rough and my clutch barely has any throw in it. I've got a hollowed out CDV and a clutch stop in place but engaging the clutch (letting off the pedal) only occurs in the last what seems to be inch of travel. When the guy did my CDV he didn't bleed the clutch after so I'm wondering if that needs to happen. Also, because of this throw I feel like I'm really wearing on the clutch because it's nearly impossible to have a smooth motion when engaging/disengaging it.
I haven't noticed any slipping, thank goodness. Any ideas? |

I wouldn't think your clutch should be going out with only 57k miles unless you beat on it all the time or like you said maybe there is some air in the lines. Did you check your clutch/brake fluid and see if it was full?

This was just my way of evening the score... sadly I know my AT won't hold as much power as a MT, but I still have fun none the less. Back on topic, I have a e36 mt that the clutch pedal goes almost to the floor before engaging the last inch or so of travel. when I was doing research on what the fix was, it was either the master cylinder or slave cylinder needed replacing. I have no idea though if the e90 mt has either of those parts...good luck |

And thats usually me who says MT FTW>>LOL The fact is the OP open up the system when he did the CDV swap..I would start w a proper bleed..and this means power bleed..he should start there and then work up to slave/master cylinder |

LOL, Thanks for the advice guys. It's going in Monday for a weird groan in the air system (when the air is off it randomly groans from behind the dash), the clutch being weird, and the waste gate rattle. We'll see how it goes.

It's first owner put 45k on it in 3 years so I have to believe he was doing a lot of cruising. |

My clutch was acting funny too after 25k miles, brought it in to Fields BMW of Daytona Beach and they replaced it under warranty!
