stock 335 coupe dyno run

Ran my 335 coupe on the dyno today. Put 286hp to the wheels in 94 degree weather, bone stock. Unfortunately, they couldn't get a complete torque reading, but I did get 295 ft-lbs at about 1700 rpm. What are other people getting on the dyno? How are the proceed gains against this stock run?

It sounds like a very strong dyno figure, congrats. Was this on a dynojet?

Crank HP = 300hp and 300 trq

Dyno Jet = Looks like most average numbers in this thread are like 280whp and 295wtrq

It looks like 300hp is very conservative number by BMW. It's hard to believe that people are losing only 7 to 9 percent to the wheel. Front wheel drive cars lose on average 15%. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It's best not to really consider crank HP as its so difficult to measure and not very relevant. I wish all car manufactures would abandon it and rate new cars in whp.

+1

My guess why they don't do this is so that they can avoid criticism of how much variation there is in WHP numbers for a given stock car. WHP numbers can be easily tested in controlled settings whereas BHP numbers are probably a weighted average of what their engines run on on the test stand. BHP numbers allow them a huge fudge factor and some breathing room should a number of them come up really short on WHP.

I would rather see WHP also.
