Are you only interested in the DMS map?
I have the CA AUTOMOTIVE re-map on my 335D and 2000 miles on, it has not missed a single beat. Proven 345BHP, 512lb/ft and 0-60 in sub 5 secs. |

I would really like 345bhp on my (to be delivered) 335d but I'm a bit afraid of the gearbox issues, Nick. I don't like the idea of having my gearbox going in 'safe modus' once in a while.

The DMS route will be exactly the same. Its not so much what the car is tuned to but how much of its capability you use. There have been stories around for ages of tuned 535d`s going into limp mode, when pushed hard on the track because of the G`box oil temp. A simple solution would be to fit an extra oil cooler.

If you're really troubled by this, you should just leave the car stock. A re-mapped car doesn't need to be driven at 99% most of the time. Even at 80%, the gearbox functions normally, the benefit of the added power and torque will add the fun factor that outweighs the slight gearbox issue. But like Mike said, an oil cooler should solve the problem. At least the 335D's gearbox adapt and limits engine power and resume it once safe, the older re-mapped 535Ds just go into limp mode. |

The DMS map wouldn't go to sub 5 seconds 0-60 would it ? At least that isn't what I was quoted for E90 DMS 335d - not sure how different it is.

Regarding the gearbox issues ... that's probably the reason why Hamann's 335d goes up to 313bhp and 680nM.
And your movies are sick Nick
