Parking on hills
do you guys ever park on a hill and then pull your emergency break on and then you let go of the foot break and the car goes forward slightly and it sounds like metal grinding pretty loudly??

Sounds like just the handbrake needing a little distance of slip to fully "grab" the car on the steep hill.
i wouldnt worry about it, unless it rolls for more than a few inches The harder you pull hte handbrake up, the less it should do it

Pull that e-brake PULL it all the way. I would suggest that you get into a habit of pulling the hand brake all the way, no matter where you park. It is just more difficult to forget about it and drive off with a pulled hand brake

thats not the problem. the problem is that it has a metal grinding noice when the break's catch the wheel.

Isn't just a sort of "creaking" or "squeaking" of the brakes holding? Our e-brake is weird, IMO, in that it engages after the car rolls like an inch. It feels like putting an AT into P, which is unlike ANY e-brake I've ever used. Also, it makes a little noise when it does this. But it holds.
My bet is that the noise you're hearing is normal. If you're worried, also put your car in gear and face the wheels in (downhill) or out (uphill) from the curb.

That is what you should always do no matter if you are having e-brake problems or not. In some states you can actually get a ticket if you park and do not turn your wheels towards the curb.
