PROCEDE Install Vid not working-

Anybody else experience this- when i click on the video it just puts up another browser window with junk text and no quicktime or wmv. I'm on a Mac using Safari as the browser, and I definitely have the latest quicktime running, so whats the problem?

Sure- all the Lord of the Rings vfx were done with Maya on the G5, of course Avid on the Mac is king in this town- i'm not referring to FCP. Pro Tools on Mac is predominant - sure there are Pc versions of the same but it's not the norm.

I'll give ya protools, thats definatly king, even in our shop, but everything else is much faster on its PC versions... the G5 is slow as dog poop... we avoid it... 3 years ago, it was king... and several Avid products (like Avid DS) are not availible on mac. I am an AvidDS editor/compositor/color artist... so I am somewhat biased

it was just too much to say that "there wouldnt be any visual fx or sound design"... because thats not true... what IS true is that creative people tend to like MAC's better

i think i was making the point that the origins of alot of these creative programs began on the Mac platform (after effects, photoshop, protools etc) in their infancy. i'm not familiar with Avid Ds, but all the avids i see are usually the Mac versions for cutting. Like you said, creative people who started on Macs will stay with them for life, like me-
