Performance Exhaust length

For the life of me I cannot find the thread that compares how far the PE tips stick out. I'm getting mine installed tomorrow and i'm trying to figure out whether or not to tell the shop to bring it in a bit or not.

I've tried to on here...and GOOGLE!

They stick out pretty far for my taste lol. Almost looks strange if you really pay attention to it. Might be different for a 335 but on a 328 they do.

However, I have seen threads where people have gotten a shop to adjust theirs so that they don't stick out as much.

I've had new tips with me when I installed my PE; so I made them weld the tips so they sits flush with bumper. I'm pretty sure they can unweld the PE tips and weld them back where you want.

I have a non-mtech rear. Nope, I didn't but I was considering buying some Cyba or Dimisa tips to replace the PE tips because I don't like the look of the PE ones. That way I can have the shop shorten it to fit better with the bumper.

Yep, this is how they install it by default.

DesiRoc: Do it, it really improves the overall look.

Oh. To be honest thats how far the stock tips stick out which is perfect. I've just seen some PE's stick out like .5 inch more than that. Looks weird. I told the shop to try and keep it at stock length, hopefully that works. lol

UPDATE: Shop called and told me he did some measuring, and the PE is .5 inches longer than stock. Oh well. We'll see how it turns out.

I was thinking some black chrome tips from cyba. How much did a shop charge you for the process?
