Plastic Bag Stuck to my Exhaust

Hey guys,

I was driving my car today and I noticed a melting type smell while in the car, almost like the smell of a hot glue gun. I looked underneath the car and noticed that there seems to be a melted plastic bag stuck to my exhaust in the middle of the undercarriage.

My buddy told me I just need to let it melt off, but I was wondering if there were any suggestions you guys had? Should I just let it melt off or should I try and take it off once the car is cool enough for me to do so?

I'll pull whatever you can off it, then let the stuck part melt off.. guess you just need to 'drive' your car to heat up the exhaust

This happened to me. After a month, the stuck part fell off. But it took a month.

had the same thing happen to me - it took the smell almost 2 month to go away. I would go to one of those 10min oil changes places and ask them to get as much off as possible and get an oil change while you at it
