HTX: Tow Plate Question

I'm buying a 135i in the next few days and unfortunately Texas requires a front license plate. I'm thinking of getting the US Mill Works tow plate (link below). I had one concern though, is it at a high risk of being stolen? It's not exactly hard to remove from what I understand.

I have run all of my cars without front plates for the last 20 years...
been pulled over twice for it...
once in a VW on I-10 near Buckys and given a warning...maybe 10 years ago..
second time in a Vett on I-45 near Willis...ticked $200...paid the fine and never installed the plate....
I doubt you will get pulled over for it unless your doing something stupid...

If you still want to obey the law... try some Blue Loctite...

its weird.. both my VW and BMW do not have front plates, and didn't come with them when I left the dealership.

From my experience. It is a fix it ticket. However it is a pain the ass. I had gotten pull over and cited for it. I just took some ticky tac (is that what you call it?) and had it on the car for less than 5 sec (when it was cool outside) took the picture and took it back down. Went out to court and presented the picture and it was dismissed.

A good excuss that I tell people is just say that the car is european and I had just gotten the car or I have the front plate bracket on order with the parts dept. (when getting your car service as for a quote on the front plate from parts and once you get the sheet just had write back order on there) so when you get pulled over you can say i have it order just that it is on back order.

I had one of those on my MINI (after getting a ticket) - the auto car wash will bend it

Having a front plate wouldn't be so bad if our plates weren't so ugly
