E90 330i automatic software tune: +10.4hp/+18.4tq by OE Tuning

Just wanted to share my friend's tune done by OE Tuning on his 2006 330i automatic. No mods running on 91 octane. My E46 330 is tuned by OE as well and have been driving it for a year and it's such a pleasure to drive. The same can be said about this E90 tune. Great response and lively power delivery.

oetuning.com is where you guys can go if you want to get your car tuned here in socal.

Isn't that baseline really weak for a 330i? I know that the only number that matters is the before and after but that number is really low.

Yeah for real.. that's like a 30% loss from advertised crank HP. OP What's the condition of this car and what kind of dyno was used?

Don't worry, guys. This dyno is known as the "heartbreaker" dyno cause it reads low. These are the same responses I get when I posted my dyno or whenever anybody posts from this dyno. People say OMG your car is WEAK bla bla bla.

Trust me, my buddy's 330i and my 330i are in excellent condition and extremely healthy. The dynos just read low thats all.

It's a Dyno Dynamics. you can go to oetuning.com, check out the blog and see other cars as well as mine.

Yes that dyno reads low but it's still really low for a 330. That really doesn't mean much though. A dyno really should be used for comparison purposes only with that dyno on that day and not other ones. Even on the same day you can get false readings. Your car doesn't behave on a dyno like it does on the road.

+1 for OE Tuning, and yes - that Dyno reads very low, it's a total heartbreak for someone looking for bragging rights, but Jeremy does it right. Ive been on that dyno MANY times, and its always a low read, but the gains are true which is all a dyno can be used for as e90pilot said

Here is my dyno from stock:

Then I added some of our mods, and baselined at 196whp, added the old design headers and was at

in an e90, 328i - Single stage manifold - Same dyno as the OP

Hi gavin, I thought CA 328i already has the 3 stage manifold?

Is this tune detected by dealers?

the 328i has a single stage manifold, like the 325i.

the 330i and the z4si and x3si have 3 stage manifold, and the N51 engine in the 128i has it also.

No it cant be detected by a dealer

Gavin@MMW, how come your e90 328i shows better/similar stock numbers as E39hijinks e90 330i?

and we were at a honda shop, no affiliation with gintani/OE whatsoever

can't see gavin's dyno but consider the auto vs manual. auto will have more loss by a few percent.

The 330I got no mods and is an auto. Gavin's manual and he's running catless headers + MMW Exhaust.

Because my 328i is a beast. Lol

And because my dynos were done on a totally different day then his. And the software in my car is not the same as the tune everyone else has, we spent a LONG time tuning this car, its super aggressive and has been running great for over a year with that software

Oh, and my 328i is an AUTO

I know yours is a beast. LOL

I'm just stating some facts from the dyno photos above (beginning of the thread), like:

Gavin@MMW (E90 328i/AT stock - no mods, baseline) dyno numbers: Max HP 177.6, Max Tq 158.9...Great numbers, BTW.

E39hijinks (E90 330i/AT stock - no mods, baseline) dyno numbers: Max HP 178.2, Max Tq 155.1...

Does anyone see the difference? It wouldn't matter if one car was tested ad 95F day and the other at 65F, 6MT or 6AT...There is no way, the 328i will gain (the OEM 25 HP difference) that much HP/Tq. No offense, Gavin.

Although, I like the OEtuning gain that E39hijinks is showing us.

That no mods baseline is not exactly right, I had scoops and k&n drop in with carbon delete, and an MMW CSv1 on the car at the time, we actually removed an afe intake becuase it dynoed lower then the k&n box I brought with me, but it was close to stock. Still had the resonator and cats in place

Hmmm, impressive...if scoops, k&n drop in w/carbon delete, and MMW CSv1 (I'm guessing just a muffler) brings you to E90 330i stock territory. Congrats!
