Is the all leather shift knob the same thing as the M knob?

I searched but can't find an exact answer, and I didn't see any close up pictures of the non M shift knob.

I'm curious if the non M all leather shift knob is the same exact knob as the M shift knob without the M.
Is it weighted the same?
Is the leather dimpled on the non M knob like the M?

Thanks but I still can't tell if it's dimpled leather or not.
It definitely has the same shape.

Does anyone know if it's weighted like the M knob?

EDIT

Oh never mind, I saw your previous post about the dimples not being there.
I really like the dimpled leather, but I wish they made a dimpled leather non M knob.

I have the M knob, and I don't think it is weighted. I think E46 M knob was weighted but 25 11 8 036 628 is not.

I was thinking about it, but I just think there's something a little weird about putting M stuff in a non M car. It's just my opinion.
I know it's not as bad as putting an M badge on the car, but where do you draw the line?

I saw this on ebay so this is why I brought up the weighted theme:

BMW put M-sport components on cars all the time straight from the factory. So, would you order the M-sport package for the 3er if it were offered as a factory-installed option? I sure would. The E39 540i sport had tons of ///M bits; steering wheel, shifter, wheels, etc. My 2001 had M-sport wheels with a small ///M badge on them from the factory. M-sport bits have been available in the Euro-zone for a long time.

My personal philosophy is that as long as you don't put actual ///M3 badging on and just stick to the M-sport , then there's no problem. The fact of the matter is that things like the M-sport steering wheel, or a shorter M-sport shift lever can almost be considered performance mods, since they can substantially improve the driving experience.

I have the perforated leather M-knob, and it's great. I have 193 M wheels that are much lighter than the OEM 162s, and were a good bargain. I'm getting the perforated M steering wheel too. I would like to get as close as possible to the M-package that most of the world can get except the NA market. I am not trying to pretend that I have an M3. The stuff is just better, and what functions best for my driving. I could care less what badging is on it.

The wife is going to scream when I try and make a pitch to get a new 335 when the ZHP or whatever they end up calling it comes out in a year or so. It could be much worse -- the new M3 sedan will be awesome -- but somehow I don't think that she will see it that way.

I could understand your point. It's kind of like putting CSL on american M3s. But, the 3 series doesn't even have the option of an M sport package. I guess I don't mind having M parts on the car as long as I don't advertise the "M". To each his own though.

Fleet. I don't know about SA, but I think the all leather (top) one is no longer available in the U.S.? Everyone that used to carry it here shows that BMW part number no longer available.
