I'd get one that says BLASEN. Means "to blow" in German. Turbo = blown I think you get it.

CVC 5200.
(a) When two license plates are issued by the department for use upon a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear. (b) When only one license plate is issued for use upon a vehicle, it shall be attached to the rear thereof, unless the license plate is issued for use upon a truck tractor, in which case the license plate shall be displayed in accordance with Section 4850.5. Driving with a Euro plate on the front and a valid CA plate on the back isn't legal. Now if your valid CA plate on the back happens to match that of the Europlate, not sure what happens then. Probably illegal, but potentially arguable.

Not a fan personally, besides drawing CHP attention like a magnet they never look authentic.

I drive around with just the chrome metal BMW emblem plate on the front of my E90 325i and no one ever cares. Everyone around here has no plate in front. Worst case I keep the second one in my trunk so I can just change the plate right there for the damn cop if I ever did get pulled over.
Though, in section b of that legal clause you can just say that you never got more than one plate. They could never prove for sure that they sent you both plates or that you actually received them. The only thing they could do is give you a fix-it ticket at best. That's why I think the cops don't even bother anymore. |

Quote:
this section of the california vehicle code ONLY makes it illegal not to affix your front license plate (which many of us don't do anyway). however, it does NOT make it illegal to affix a euro license plate to the front. there's a big distinction there.

Like others said, running a euro plate can look cool, but it can also attract unwanted attention. Depends on your local authorities and laws though, some places don't even require a front plate.
