Shiv, post this under the Bimmerforums 5 series section.
Doubt many, if any new 535i owners will be frequenting the 3 series board.
Good luck my man.

Good luck my man.
actually, if they frequent forums they are probably enthusiasts. if enthusiaists, they would have been here long ago keeping tabs on the N54.

To a point.
But by this point, they know all about the N54 engine.
Keep in mind, your "average" 5 series buyer will be in their 40's, again, not many will be chipping their 5 series, much less hanging around a 3 series forum.
In any case, it would still be more visible to the target audience to post this "wanted" post on Bimmerforums, in the 5 series section where 95% of 5 series owners who DO frequent car forums will most likely be hanging out.

I believe it also hads to do with shiv having rep here already, i dont think he would get much of a response over there even if there were many 535 owners. "hey this random guy wants to borrow my car and fool around with the engine: good plan!"

i think he was looking to get lucky and pick up someone who was as the above.

You'd be surprised how well known Vishnu and shiv are for their xede implementations on other boards. Friend of mine was looking into getting a MazdaSpeed 3 (yuk), so I checked out their boards, and sure enough... xede/vishnu threads

You are clearly new here and new to the tuning game.
Shiv and Vishnu are world renowned.
Anybody who has had any interest in car tuning in the last few years knows Vishnu and what they've done.
And as you said, if somebody was interested in the N54 engine, and has done ANY research or surfing of these boards AT ALL in the last 6-7 months knows who Shiv is and what he's done for this engine.

The point was simply to recommend to Shiv to post this "wanted" post on the Bimmerforums in the 5 series section as well.
Though both the same car, there is probably little cross surfing between the two cars.
How often do you surf the 5 series section at Bimmerforums?
How often you think E series Mercedes owners surf the C series forums?
That was the point.

It was good that he posted it here too, more coverage can't hurt.

Some semi useful facts on the new 535i:

BMW lists the curb weight of the 6-speed 535i as 3660lbs, or, 67lbs heavier than the 6 speed 335i sedan.

BMW lists the curb weight of the STEPTRONIC 535i sedan as 3703lbs, or, 98lbs heavier than the 335i w/STEPTRONIC.

The BMW 535i 6-speed doesn't go into production until September of this year. You can only get them in automatic form for now.

The correct forum to post this request is on e60.net under the Parts, Accessories and Mods subforum. The bimmerforums e60 subforum barely registers a pulse.

You would be surprised how many 20-and 30-somethings own the e60. The 20-and 30-something demographic is the largest crowd over at e60.net and most are mad modders.

EDIT: I went ahead and created the thread there.

I am not sure what's funnier, your comment or the fact that someone actually wrote the quoted posted.

Just a guess..... even though the engine is the same, items such as intake and exhaust are probably slightly different. Also the gearing may have been changed which could potentially alter the load.... not usually a problem if nothing else changes... but with it being a different car, its always better to take the safe route. Shiv I am sure has more details on this.

tranny ratios are the same except for final drive 3.46 vs 3.64. But this may not even be the issue lol, car also weighs 200lbs more.
