Wire sticking out from the passenger side back seat on a coupe.

I look at my back seat last night, and I see some sort of wire with a connector at the end sticking out from underneath the seat where the leather intersects with the carpeting. What the hell is this wire? It is just plainly sitting there, not connected to anything. it seems as if it was tucked under the leather but came loose.

Any ideas?

I can take a pic as well if needed

May go to the seatbelt sensor, have someone sit back there and see if the seatbelt warning comes on or not.

That wire is for the battery disconnect when the vehicle is delievered. Just tuck it under the seat and forget about it.

Yup, had that issue during my 2004 330i delivery. That "problem" got me a free set of floormats

Yup. Battery disconnect for shipping. Dealer sloppiness during delivery IMO.

To confirm it, yet again, battery disconnect connector

Its so they can plug in a switch that disconnects the battery for shipping

I get the feeling people have an e-peen contest here and like getting their post counts up. One reply and a second to confirm are great, even a third, but when you've got a half-dozen people all saying the same thing it gets rather silly. (I suppose I'm guilty of this as well though. Answering an already answered question.)
