parking mirror

I drove a 5 series previous to my current car and I remember the right mirror tilted down when parking. I have tried putting the mirror switch on both the left and right setting and the mirror never tilts when I put it in reverse. Is this not a feature on the new 3 because I thought it was on the E46 as well.

Thanks

If you have the option, it will tilt, but the mirror adjustor selector MUST be set on the DRIVER's side for the passenger mirror to tilt down.

There is a little switch that allows you to choose which mirror you are adjusting-- again, it must be set to the DRIVER's side for the passenger mirror to tilt down.

If you don't like it, leave it set to the passenger side. It will not tilt down.

Do you have the Premium package? If not, then I don't think you have that option.

I don't have any package on my car, but my passenger mirror still tilts down when the mirror switch is on the driver's position.

I would assume that the 335 might come standard with a few things here and there that are optional on a 328.

It is only for cars equipped with premium package or power seats. If you don't have power seats on your 325/328 you do not have this feature.

That would explain it. The 335 and 330 come standard with power seats.

The OP is in CANADA. They do things a little differently there. It is entirely possible your mirror doesn't have this feature because you didn't get the right options/model. I just don't know what those options are. Power seats or Premium I think.

You either need power seats or folding mirrors to have the mirror tilt

and for Canadian cars, it looks like power seats are only available on the 328 with the Premium Pack, not as a standalone option. At least according to BMW.CA

Mine tilts down, then all of a sudden it wouldn't go anymore. I had to take it in to the dealership and they had to reflash some firmware in the entire door to get it working again. Crazy stuff. It worked after, but now it's not freakin working again! I gotta double check if my g/f fiddled with the mirror control again to make sure it's not acting up again.
