7) Replacing the primary cat's with metallic cat's

- in that sequence.

Technical will be about US$ 9K plus labor

It's a never ending story. Draw your line. Buying a M3 even doesn't help. See the AA 1000hp M3 . Try to keep everyting bolt on ( removable ) and make no cutouts at all.

SS did. The price is enormous. Hey, are you in US allowed to bolt on related to exhausts whatever you like ? If I would bolt on one of those custom exhausts I would get a ticket after driving the first few miles ... and tickets are expensive here.

9k + labor can do much more. On a turbo car concentrate on the flow and fight backpressure. Ditch Air box and design a free flow intake, get more efficient intercooler, tweak compressor and turbine wheels, get metallic cats and relocate them later than in the downpipes, free flowing exhaust and custom map with vanos adjustments.

I have been on the expensive part side:

5) Quaife or Drexler LSD 1.700 - 2.200
6) SS exhaust ( incl. deletion of the rear cat's ) 2.400
7) Replacing the primary cat's with metallic cat's 1.000

US$ 9.100 - 9.600 plus labor.

You could save a lot money by buying cheaper parts or via group buys.

You are not allowed to have custom downpipes in either Europe or US, but no police is going to tell the difference in downpipes. Get accepted mufflers, well made piping and claim that the acceptance covers the whole exhaust.

I saved a lot in gauges and Lsd With proper tune you know that afr and boost are ok. And as such they are not increasing performance. I like my Lsd button and like the fact that I can play with it. i don't want Lsd to mess with my Dsc.

The lsd is free It is called dtc. Easy to install. Just push a button Also more sophisticated than the old fashioned hardware solutions

You really think there is no need for a LSD ? My main reason has been snow . I got used to the LSD with the M3. Have you driven the 335i up to a mountain on snow ?

I have been driving the whole winter, so yes I have been driving quite a bit in snow, though mainly just daily driving. I also attended Bmw winter driving school and we did some more spirited stuff trying out all the settings. Dtc is perfect for getting uphill in snow.

You are right... I should have said that I would like to see someone make some affordable downpipes. In the US, techinically its against the law to remove your cats, but as long as you pass emissions you won't be hassled on the street by a police officer or anything. The one exception to this might be california, but I don't live there so it doesn't really effect me.

You don't think there is a chance of your car spiking in the winter or just want to keep an eye on boost from time to time? I guess you have a lot of faith in Shiv. I would rather put the hundred or two towards the gauge just to make sure, its not breaking the bank in the grand scheme of things, but that's just me.
