Help! for Lease car

I tried M3 forum and no luck maybe here is a better place.

I have a 335i Lease ending and i want to buy it out. Question is can the price of the car they give be negotiable? (live in WA)

and thinking of getting extended warranty .. is it same as the factory warranty?

I saw a post of a CPO warranty, that you pay 50 every time and doesnt cover minor stuff, same apply to extended?

THanks

The price of buying a car at the end of the lease is not negotiable. As far as warranties go there are so many out there that it is impossible to answer the question if you are talking about 3rd party warranties. CPO seems to be a very good deal, covers most stuff and you know BMW will be around if something goes wrong.

The extended warranty only covers major stuff.. tranny things like that. Its gana be more expensive for you to buy out your lease than if you bought another used 335i. They might work with you because the new model is coming out soon.

I would turn it in and lease another one.

CPO warranty is the way to go and it'll cover the major expensive things except for your radio/nav. $50 per visit for cpo claims.

I am in almost the same situation. My 335i X-Drive lease is up in 3 months. There is NO WAY I would buy my car! I have 45k miles on it. If I am going to have a hefty payment, I will have a CPO'd car or a majority of the factory warranty. Period.

thanks for replies.

i would def let go if i hadnt put so much money down.... i know i know why did i do that. well first off was going buy it out and wanted pay less montly. but i learned my lesson to never lease(depending on situation) and never put that much down again for a car.

so if i get a extended warranty its basically like a CPO one? or are they 2 different ones? (this is through bmw not third party)

You really should call the finance manager at your dealership and discuss, they will be able to tell you what type of warranty they can offer.
Most aftermarket warranties that BMW dealerships offer are quite a bit more extensive than the CPO and you can get one without a deductible. When you really read the specifics on what a CPO covers, it is not a great warranty, especially if you have NAV. It will probably cast about $3,500 for a 2 year 60k platinum warranty, which is the closest to a factory warranty you can find

Well I negotiated my price in April this year. So if bmw hasn't changed their policy then yes you def can negotiate. It will be largely dependent on regional market values for similar cars

What does that have to do with buying it out at the end of the lease? The residual is the same no matter how much you put down.

Please don't give inaccurate information if you do not know the answer. The price is negotiable. It is up to BMW Financial Services to decide whether they want to negotiate or not. Seeing as how used car prices are up currently, they will probably want the car back to sell themselves. But it always is negotiable.

Correct, not up to the dealer, it's BMWFS call. I once got Audi Financial to know 3k off the residual on an A8 I leased. The told me they couldn't change the residual, but could give me a pre-paid VISA card. They started at 2k off, I called back a week later and got another 1k.

Never hurts to ask.

It doesn't matter how much money you put down on a lease. In the end you'll have spent the same amount of money regardless. Your payment is just more or less.
