If you are looking for a power increase, no.

If you want just the sound, then yes its a pretty good price.

It wont make your exhaust louder, but it will make your engine louder - so there will be more sound in general coming out of your car

I've had this intake for a while now and while there really is no power increase, it does sound alot better and the gas mileage increase has been really worth it. This alone has made the intake worth while in my opinion so yeah that price is worth it.

I had that intake and I felt loss in power when I installed it and noticed gains when switching back to normal. There's a FIX that has been done by a member here, but I dont believe in it; maybe its fixing the issue, but it still doesnt make the aFe intake a good intake.

Save $300; forget that this thing has ever existed.

That's the best option for the buck if you buy new. You got a couple options if you want to go the used way. Anything that's closed box intake is good; but their price range is all over the place.

Euro intake : 400ish$
Perf. Intake : $725 (Found one for the same price as the euro intake; so thats what I have)
Simota : $800
Gruppe-M : $1k+

Everything that is open; like the aFe creates HUGE heatsoak and make the engine sounds like a vaccuum since it suck soooo much air; but its soooo hot that the engine cannot make anything good with it. So its only gonna make sound.

The best option would be a GIANT closed box intake with the massive filter from aFe.

That would suck big time; but in a good way

But what other intake system did you try for judging that easily?

I've done the K&N / Charcoal delete mod and couldnt feel anything. Luckily for me, its the same filter in the performance intake; so I only lost my time there.

I wouldn't even waste my time with it, i had one in there before and couldn't feel or hear a thing if you did its a placebo effect as more then just myself have posted on here. Plus when it came time to re oil it i was always nervous so i would just buy a new one instead. And figured what the hell let me try just the oem paper filter for once. And it was the exact same. Plus not to mention the thought of the k&n fucking up the Mass air made me nervous too, because it happened on my mercedes when i ran a k&n and was a very pricey fix. That topic has been discussed time and time again on here about the k&n debate.

Stock, afe dry/ and oil filter, charcoal delete W/ K&n, charcoal delete W/ oem filter...

im just saying intakes on these cars dont provide much. Like i said 25 bucks and it will be more flowing with the charcoal gone. I put the charcoal filter at the end of a shop vac and it was very restrictive. Its been said many times that intake systems on the n52 are just not that beneficial. Which i agree with, thats why i am floored when i see people spending high $$$ on intakes for MAYBE a 3-4hp gain. If anyone can feel 3-4hp then great. Take the shit out of your trunk and you will prob gain more just on the weight savings alone lol...If you want an intake for the sound then great by all means go for it, but I noticed with the AFE here in fl there seemed to be A LOT of heat soak and just seemed to bog down...AGAIN this is just MY OPINION, im not trying to convince anyone of anything and not trying to thread jack...so to each there own.
