Why does the comfort access cost double on the 7 series. Don't they operate the same way, same features. cost more on a bigger car ?

I noticed that when I went to the dealer to pick up my car last night. They had a 550i with comfort access that was listed as a $1000 option.

The 5 and 7 series have CA sensors in the rear door handles.

I had to have my driver's door handle replaced because a CA module was faulty, and it was like a $300 part.

The only one that doesn't make sense is the 6-series, where CA is $1000 even though it only has 2 doors... I imagine that is the "just because we can" part.

why is the 4 door 3 series same price as the coupe. didn't make sense there.

i meant the comfort access is the same price in both 4 door and coupe 3 seris..
