270M Winter Set
At the weekend I picked up a set of M3/1M 270M winter wheels from the dealer and thought I would try them out to see how they looked.
I only fitted one side temporarily, the rear shot shows the standard 265 rear on the left and 235 winter on the right. Obviously not as sexy as the standard set but bearable for the winter in my opinion. The rears could probably do with spacers to push them out a bit though, judging by the shot from the front. |

Sure, just under £1900. Yep a lot of money, but I loved winters on my previous 130i and thought I better get a set for this as I am planning on keeping it for a few years.

Looks good from the side. Like you suggest, they may look better pushed out somewhat judging by the side view.
Have you actually driven your car anywhere yet? It looks so clean still! Did you get paint protection at all? |

It was very dirty last week, came back from a trip on Sunday and gave it a clean. I don't have paint protection, personally don't think it is worth it. I use a car shampoo with wax in it and then give it a once over with Meguiars Quick Detail. Seems to do the job.

No worries man. Your not looking for "Best in Show" trophies with those, but rather a wheel that will be much more functional in the winter. I really dig the fact that you are planning on driving it in the winter as well. I remember the days when I had my 318ti, running on Hamann HM2's in 18's on a 235 sport tire, and didn't have the money for a winter setup, and it was my daily driver. Well needless to say, I still made it around, even in snow although I always needed a push out of a parking spot
For what you got that setup for, don't worry about spacers...

ha! I got stuck once because of the crown of the road.... I was in my E30 M3 in Indiana on Dunlop SP8000 tires.. and the road had hard packed snow.... The driver ahead of me of course HAD to stop.... so i came to a stop and the crown of the road made the car literally angle sideways when i tried to start. The more I tried to go (and I mean just INCH forward) the more it went sideways. I had to pull the E-brake so it wouldn't start sliding into the ditch.... Since I basically blocked more than half of the two lane road... I got some help from some rather not very understanding fellow motorists.... wheels look good! if you live in a cold climate... Snow tires for the win! |

Thanks for the pics !
The looks are better than I was expecting. I'm still searching for (cheaper) alternatives... Any idea what the ET numbers are of your 270M winter wheels (I know that they are 18" x 8".) ? Enjoy ! |

Cheers All.
Ruf, is the ET number on the wheels normally? If so I can check at the weekend, however the following site states ET20: http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ |

As a fellow BSM owner I can tell you that the odds are pretty good that his car was dirty about 30 seconds after those pics were taken (But what can you do, it looks so GOOD when clean )
Those 270s look WAY better than expected. If I had seen these pics before getting a used set of M3 18s I might have gone this way instead Let us know if you have any traction problems with the 235s in the rear.
