 they should have built a GPS chip into the key so our BMW Assist can help us locate it. We should be entitled to 3 free finds.

#1 reason why I don't want comfort access. Without it, I have to remember that I'll need my key to pop in the ignition and to lock/unlock.

Brings, I was just wondering where you´ve been.

Anyway, there´s no emergency number to get a key. You (unfortunately) have to order it at the dealer´s parts dept. and they require proof of ownership (so as to prevent theft).

Are you completely locked out or do you have a spare?

Hey jspira!!!

Actually, that's not true. (Wow, something that jspira didn't know! And you know everything!) I called the parts department of one of the californian BMW dealerships and they gave me an number to call. I called and they asked many security questions that only I would know, and next day the key came!

Yes, I have a spare. The spare was the one I ordered when I lost my key the first time. Wah.

Thanks for the info. Hope you can find the number - and post it here when you do.
