My New 335d Space Gray Chestnut Brown M Sport

My New 335d Space Gray Chestnut Brown M Sport
Hey guys! Thanks for all the info in this thread. I finally picked up my 335d! It was sitting at the dealer for 10 days while we worked out a solution to the 287 wheel fiasco.

The photos are with the 287 wheels, But my dealer is working on getting the 193m wheels this week. I'll update the photos and do a before and after.

I'm coming from a 2008 335i, and I can tell you that I'm enjoying this way more. Even with the Auto. (My first auto ever).

Space Gray
Chestnut Brown Interior (looks more red in sunlight, more brown in shade)
Glacier Aluminum Trim (have gotten many complements on this.)

M-Sport Package (sorta - I'm waiting on 193m wheels)
Sport Paddles
Premium Package
Convenience Package (liking this WAY more than I thought!!!)
Heated Seats/Fold down seats
Nav, BMW Apps/iPod
Harmon Kardon

A few things I notices so far.
Stealthily fast. I really need to watch the speedo. On my 335i I knew I was "performing" cause I heard the engine and consciously reved it higher.
Its really quiet.
Suspension is more forgiving than my 2008 335 Sports Package
I'm driving in sport mode and forcing myself to drive like a manual. I will resist as long as I can.
I do like the sport paddles. I can down shift in a corner with both hands on the wheel.

Loving it! The trim and Chestnut Brown are soo much better in person than the BMW site. I was a little nervous since I never saw it in person!

Congrats! Looks amazing! We love our 'd'....makes much more sense to me vs. the 'i' unless 6MT is a do or die feature.

Did they put those wheels on in the factory? If so, someone was asleep that day...

your not kidding. Asleep with bad taste and not understanding their own enthusiast market.

There was a "shortage" during a small window of time July12-late august where they replaced all the M Sport 193m wheels with the Sports Package 287s.

There is a whole thread about it over at bimmerfest. I'm working it out with my dealer. But I'm certainly not alone. Everyone is pissed at BMW. I even have photos of builds on the website of my car with the 193m wheeels!

other than that... I really happy with my decision to get the d!

The 193 wheels are the only ones I think compare to the 195 that I got with my Sports Package d. Maybe the dealer will have an easier time getting the 195s for you, then you will probably be the only person in the US with an Msport with 195 rims.

ahh man... I wish! we need it plated also. Its just still new. On my last car I didn't plate it and I got two tickets! One I didn't know about that turned into $150 bucks!

I kept my license plate in my glove box and put it on the dash when parked on the street. I believe it makes it compliant.

I wish we could at least have euro plates. They look so much better!

oh wow. I saw that combo on a car down in SD. it looks soooo good... but, I'd be so worried about mucking it up. Especially with a four legged friend in the back!

I'll keep an eye out! Not too many people have such great taste! lol

Ah, that's a shame about the plate. Agreed about the Euro plates.

Mine's Oyster on Space Gray. Same car as you (+ 193m ) and no CA/HK. I've yet to wash the car since taking delivery (rain, rain all the time) and it looks pristine both inside and out.

Yeah I agree, Oyster is a bit of a pain. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go that route for my next car. But looks great while clean.

Funny thing is - a month after I bought mine, my neighbor down the street bought yet another m-tech LCI Space Grey 335d on 193s... Jerk lol.

Love the cars

Beautiful cars! I am deciding between a TiAg or Space Grey on Black 335d. The Space Grey also has the Glacier Silver trim which I really like. Decisions decisions...

I just need '07 GTI to sell so that I can make it happen.

Your color looks good with the 193's - can you buy back the used 287's?

The Michelin Pilot Sports! I was pleasantly surprised it came with them. My last 335i came with the Potenzas and they didn't last a year!

When I replaced these Potenzas on my last 335i with Pilot Sports I saw a HUGE improvement in ride and performance.

So, I was very happy to see my new 335d come with the PS.

Lucky? Or did BMW finally realize the Bridgestones are crap!
