ALMS: Petit Le Mans on Oct. 1--Roll Call!
Thought I would start a thread to figure out anyone on the forums that plans to go to Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta this year. The festivities begin September 28 and the big race is on Saturday October 1st. http://roadatlanta.com/ev_petit_tix.lasso
The BMW CCA (Peachtree Chapter) is hosting a corral at Road Atlanta, so was curious if anyone has signed up to participate. There is 6 days left to register, so wanted to see if anyone else plans to go that route. The "premium package" gets you a lot, so I am thinking of doing that (I am currently not a member). Also if anyone missed the other thread, RLL will be at United BMW in Roswell Tuesday, September 27th with the beautiful GT car  Needless to say, its going to be a great place to meet everyone, celebrate owning a BMW  and to watch the best and last race of the ALMS season. So.... who is going?!

I'll be there "De-virginizing" my lack of any Road Atlanta racing....ever! Need a place to set up a tent and people to hang out, drink, and spread debauchery
.Planning on getting tickets at the gate unless someone has a better suggestion. Cheers Todd

I will be there but I won't be camping out. My buddy and I will show up in his truck early in the AM and try to get a decent spot in the infield.
I would do the BMWCCA corral but I really don't feel like spending over $200 to park and to get food, and I don't have the time to use it for 4 days either thanks to school. By the way, those who want to go to the United BMW event with the RLL team need to register HERE -->https://www.motorsportreg.com/index....BA18CD0FA4D5FA It's totally free but they just want to get an idea of how many people will show up.

Yeah the $225 price tag for the premium package BMW CCA corral is a bit expensive, but the 4-day access, convenience of the reserved parking and golf-cart shuttle service make it appealing to me. I just talked with my uncle who is getting there early Wednesday morning to park his RV between turns 7 and 8 so that is where I will be most of the time. Hopefully as the time gets closer we can figure out a time to all meet at the corral in the midst of the madness! Glad to hear so many people are going

I'll be there on Saturday. I'm not doing the 3 day thing this year. I'm not taking my car, I'm taking my truck. That way I can park wherever and don't have to worry about where I park.

My father and I just got tickets for free so I'll be there. Good things happen when you buy a 1M from the same guy you've bought 8 cars from.

My buddy and I are getting to the track around 8-ish tomorrow morning.
Eric, I know we talked about meeting near the pits at the bottom of the hill but I forget when we decided to meet there. Just text me when you're headed that way. I can't wait for this thing

My buddy and I had a blast. I was looking for you guys but I didn't see anyone. The BMW CCA corral looked pretty depressing compared to the others, at least in size. My buddy made friends with a few drunk guys and they got us up on this son of a bitch to watch about 30 mins of the race. It was AWESOME!  This was our view, we could also see turn 9, a little bit of 10 and all of 11 as they headed back up the hill.  I got a few photos with my little point and shoot camera. Damn, didn't see this until now. I was there Fri-Sat, what an awesome race! I just went to the Baltimore Grand Prix too, but this was muuuuch better. We had a tent down by turn 10, great view there. Definitely some sick cars in the corrals too, saw a 997 GT2 and GT2RS, tons of Z06's and ZR1s, 1Ms, RS4's, 3-4 R8's, a few Gallardos etc.
Somehow my friends convinced me to drive my car inside, just after I had washed it, so now its covered in red clay dust. Awesome lol. If I go next year, I'm definitely taking my Jeep. Much better for tailgating and I'll be able to park it in places where nobody else can get to haha. |

Had such a great time! The BMW corral was a little small, but it was still enjoyable to have a place to hang out when you wanted to rest for a bit. Met some really nice people. Can't wait again for next year!
