Am I Missing Out On Future Cars By Buying A 335i Now?
I currently own an E90 325i, great car and I love it to death. My only problem with it, it's not a 335i.
I got a deal on it, some richy lady bought it and 3 weeks later returned it with 900 miles on it because she wanted an X5 instead. Or so the story goes. Either way, LB BMW knocked off like $7500. Had leather power/mem seats with sport pack exactly the interior/exterior colors I wanted. How could I pass this up? Now, I've owned the car for 10 months and it's doing just fine. The engine is flawless, and I push it hard sometimes, but it's not quite as speedy and eye catching as I'd like. I want to be comfortable with a car and buy something I love so I can keep it for 3-4 years or so. I've already put a $1000 deposit on a custom fully loaded 335i coupe for european delivery on August 20th, and I'm very excited. Now my only concern is that BMW is going to come out with some amazing new fun car I'd love to have in 2008 and I'll regret not waiting for it and going with the 335i. I mean, I kinda did that with my 325i here. I had no clue what was coming out next and now I want to get rid of it and get the nicer car. I'm a huge fan of the 3 series, so other models really won't spark my interest. Does anyone know what BMW has on the agenda? The new M3 is pretty snazzy, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. |

That 2008 fun car is the M3. Besides, you can only live in the moment. Car companies continuously bring out newer cars, if you lived by the fear that another new model will come out and usurp your current model, you wouldn't have purchased a car to begin with.

Their will always be something out their better, newer, faster then yours. If you keep waiting, you'll be waiting forever.
Only thing i can see you might regret 335 is maybe the new A5/S5. Also since the 1 is coming to US you might like the 1 series. Mmmm what else. G37, IS-F, and m3. |

I really don't understand the logic here. You want a 335i now because its faster and commands more attention than the 325 yet you don't fancy the M3 coming out in 2008. M3 is everything the 335i is and it's even faster and attracts more attention. If what you are saying is true then go ahead and buy the 335i because I don't think there is going to be a 350i out. There is a possibility of a M3 csl but you don't like Ms.

The 335 is the future car. Now.

I don't like the new M3 because I can get virtually the same performance in the 335i with some suspension tweaks and Vishnu tuning. I've seen a lot of quad exhaust mods, and I think I'd get that on my 335i. Plus it'd be cheaper and less of a hard performance car ride. The M3 doesn't cut far enough away from the new E92 coupe design to really be much more eye catching. I think that would complete the package there. It's just my personal preference that the M3 doesn't look/feel much better than the 335i. I'm not an Audi fan. I went and test drove the RS4 and wasn't overly impressed. Not to mention the price difference. I don't like Lexus or Infiniti's offerings either. The only other cars I'd want right now are in the 6 figure range. I guess it's settled then. The 335i is a good decision. Can't wait to pick it up in Europe in August! |

Sounds like the 335i fits your needs but I have funny feeling that you will lust over the M3 when it's out.

For cars, like cell phones and computers, if you wait for the next big thing....you'll wait forever.
Get what you want now. That's what I did, juts placed my order for a 335i. Delivery is in December though |

Get the 335. Another great thing about bmw is the ability of the cars to hold enough value 2-5 years from now to use them as a solid down payment to trade up on either the newer model of the same series, go for the m version, or a higher series.

At the risk of being frivolous, that's why I have started leasing my cars. Because then I'll be FORCED to buy the newest best most exciting new car every few years. I really pulled one over on the wifey...

Aren't they going to do a ZHP option on the '08 cars? I thought I read that somewhere. That might be worth waiting for. I'm not personally waiting for it, but if you wanted to wait..

BMW always does a mid cycle refresh on their cars
a 2007 is going to look exactly the same as your 2006 if you wait till the refresh, you'll have some differences to hang your hat on I would expect the refresh in 08-09, they'll up the ante, the cars always get better so you shouldn't buy a car you already have even if the motor is more powerful |

That's what I'm talking about. What are the theoretical specs on that thing? I'm assuming it's probably not as fast or as nice as the 335i, but it will be a speedy little devil? I guess I should just live in the present and maybe 2 years down the line trade in if it's something that's really appealing.

get the 335 and just upgrade it .
odds are you will get it close to the "next hotness" and it will be more or less one of a kind....because you chose the parts and way you wanted it "upped" |
