Lightbulb National PROcede Installation Day

Just had mine delivered by FedEx 35 minutes ago. Yes!

Since there will be so many people installing today, I thought we should have one place to post questions and offer support. Wish us all luck.

I am re-watching the video and saving the written instructions. I should be good to go in the next hour or so. Certainly will be taking my time.

Good luck ! I'm sure you will enjoy the installation and the PROcede. I'll do the same in 2-3 weeks. Take time and avoid any force !

Cheers
Eugen

Everything going well.

Question 1: 40 v. 50 amp fuse. Which little connector to use for 50 amp. I couldn't figure out how to use the small one, so I figured the larger simple hook was the way to go. Is this correct? Does anyone have pictures of how that small one fits on?

Comment: Started the car and says I am low on oil. Not a PROcede issue correct? Did this three weeks ago on the freeway and then went away after a few miles.

the low oil level issue is well known to BMW. I think it calls for to update a control unit. Will post back when I find the bulletin. But no it has nothing to do with the Procede installation.

Thanks. So do you think I should add a quart to be safe?

If your engine oil level is fine don't add anything. I just checked the bulletin and it does not apply to the N54 engines.

If you're low on oil then add some.

The 40amp and the hook type of clamp is the one shown in the video. The other clamp is for the 50amp fuse, if you don't have the other 40amp fuse. Once the clamp is on just push it back into the holder you got it from. Naturally it may take a little more force than normal since you got the extra clamp piece to slide in now too.

Sorry, but does anyone have a picture of how to use the 50 amp connector. Just didn't seem to fit for me.

Otherwise, just finished. Only issue is there was no ground loop on the ground wire so I stripped the wire and connected it. On my way to pick up a loop.

Going for the first drive....

I know, but the fuse in the video is the 40 amp. I have the 50 amp and the non-hook connector does not seem to fit. Sure someone has pictures.

Otherwise, started it up and didn't get the low oil indicator. Drove down the street and the low oil indicator went on. Checked the temps and the oil gauge had not moved from the far left. Called BMW to find out what kind of oil and added a quart. Upon start up the level was in the bottom third of the meter. Went for a drive for thirty min (more on this later) and checked the level again and this time it was at the top of the meter, but still green.

Is it a problem to have the oil level indicated at the top of the meter? (Still green and “Status Ok”)

As for the drive, not much room for a car like this at 3:00 on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles. Not a bad complaint. Short break between the 10 and 405 got me to 120 or so. A little stutter around 100. I will be watching for this. Otherwise, a velvet hammer. Low end response and torque is much improved. Also runs closer to redline without the reduction felt with stock tuning. Very happy with it. Dreaming about cool weather and an open highway.

Read the Vishnu forum, take note of other people's tips and issues

Nothing else really unless you got a specific question...
