Sunroof and chassis question

On the E90 and E92, sunroof is standard and cannot be deleted right?

Ok, so when they manufacture the chassis, is it manufactured with the cut-out for the sunroof or do they cut it after they manufacture the chassis?

I want to know because I would love to have deleted the sunroof, I am aware it's not a big deal, but I love to learn of the technical aspects/reasons if any during manufacturing.

Here is one of the robots placing on a non-sunroof panel on a E90

Notice the black glue lines on the roof

Also notice the non-sunroof cars have a straight centre roof brace.
Sunroof cars have a brace pre-installed on the sunroof roof, that is shaped to allow the sunroof unit

E90Fleet, you are awesome!!!

Now I am sad. How come I can't delete sunroof? It would seem rather easy...

Because BMW NA put it as standard (included) in all 3 series. Sure it is easy to remove but we do not get that option in NA.

I am curious why having a sunroof is a problem? Is it because the delete would hypothetically lower the price? Living where it is warm all the time and sunny most of the time, I love mine.
