low brake fluid sensor/light
Hi,guys new to the forum and just bought a 2006 330i. The low brake fluid sensor light came on. I bought the car from carmax. They took it back to the local dealer who said it is a wheel angle sensor. This sensor has to be calibrated into the cars cpu. Well, carmax tells me the sensor light will not go out or take calibration because the car has after market sony radio in it because when the cars cpu checks components for calibration it sees the radio is an aftermarket radio and stops calibration. Anyone ever heard of this? Any advice? Can an aftermarket radio really cause these problems? Help!

If the stock head unit is removed
The BMW programmer will choke on trying to recode your BMW
without the original radio installed. This is a big problem if something goes wrong with your car as there programmer operates on an all or nothing basis. Its not that it sees the aftermarket radio its that it doesn't see the original I don't understand all the specifics but there is a serial bus called the can bus that is effected by the installation and also the most bus connection for the radio is broken. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=dynavin That's the reason people do the stuff in the above thread . Do you still have the original head unit or did you get it with the car. If you don't you will have to get one. Anyone reading this you should never get rid of your original radio for this reason. Install it in parallel or at least hold on to it if you have to reinstall. Last edited by ctuna; 09-13-2011 at 01:54 AM.. |
