Program update and service interval

I have just had a program update to fix a problem with my auto headlights and the service interval indicator has just jumped from 8000 to 11000 miles remaining to next service. Anyone else seen this after an update?

Sounds like they reset the service counter in the process. I would let your dealer know. They will most likely tell you to come in for service when the counter reads 3k. After they service your car they will reset it once again and you should be all squared away.

There is a programming process that should be done to set the mileage/time correctly. I was told I had to wait until my next oil change. That is not true. They can fix it.
