My E92 with Towbar/Hitch
Well I finally got my Westfalia towbar in! Putting it on was a easy except I had to make some muffler hangers because it was made for the E92 328. (mine is a 335).
The unit replaces the stock bumper and is built very beefy. Probably adds 50 pounds to the back of the car. It has a verticle receiver. When the arm is removed there is nothing to see! Clean setup. I towed my jetski to the beach today. It is a 4 hour drive round trip. The 335 pulls the trailer great . Half the drive is a winding road and I could still rail the corners.(with in reason!) This is a euro setup and not legal in the states but I do not think a cop would know that. My truck is now for sale. |

Interesting, but I think I'd just buy a used Pathfinder or something for that. When I say used, I mean 1990 or one where the price is negligible. It'd be worth it to me to keep the wear/tear off the 335....

The stealth look of the hitch is a definite +....

He needs to tow. It's a car, nothing more.

The only thing that's bad about using the 3 to tow your jetskis is the beach sand & salt water. That is NOT good for the car!

Looks like a Yamaha in the background. That thing is so hard to balance on. No fun.

In case it help anyone this is the write up of my E91 hitch install:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57786 Not as pretty, but it is a receiver hitch not just a towbar so works with hitch mounted bike racks: |

Interesting, make sure you don't tow more than the recommended towing weight by BMW!
