New HPFP 3000 miles ago half engine light now, turned off car light gone?
OK. Whats going on here. They twisted my arm to put in new hpfp (had one issue with half light before with less than a gallon of gas in the car). got half engine light on the way to work. stopped in gas station turned off car turned back on, no light, nothing under service issues in the computer. Called dealer, they said it could just be a fluke???? Any one else just have a fluke? I am out of warranty with $60,000 miles. I know hpfp covered to 120,000 miles. What do you think? Car seems to be driving just fine! Had new plugs but in when hpfp was done too.

The "half-engine" reduced power indication resets upon turning the car off and then on. There are quite a few monitored engine systems that can trigger the indication. If the indication continuously comes back, or is accompanied by the SES indication, then you definitely have a problem.

One time the light came on for me, and I just just shut the car off and then back on, and it worked just fine. Well the next day the car stalled completely and would not get out of the limp mode. So if you ever see this error you should have it checked.
Under other previous failures I was able to shut the car off and back on, and drive it to the dealer the same or following day. I wouldn't ignore the engine malfunction error though. |

But the indication is the color yellow for a reason. It is a "caution", an indication for you to be aware of a problem and take steps when appropriate. Imminent death is saved for the red warnings.
