He got popular by manipulating services like Limewire. I will never forget doing my music searches looking for new remixes and shit off of mix tapes and instead of getting the song I was looking for I got this piece of shit song about supermanning that hoe. I would find it in half the songs I was downloading. I used to laugh that the song would never be popular and that this had such low production value and you had to be a fucking idiot to listen to this garbage... Well the idiots spoke and it became the biggest song in America..

His the only rapper who produces and writes his own music. It may suck, but he has my respect for that. Not even jay z or kanye have done that when they first started. I don't even think they do it now...

I'm sure many of his Facebook/twitter followers,and his wealth can be attributed to the one hit arguably worth listening to which was 'Crank that'.

The video and dance went viral worldwide. Not saying all his wealth came from that one song, but I bet it played a significant part in it.

The rest of his material is just utter shit. Evey rapper sings about money, cars and hoes....but least their beats are often decent. His work is just pure garbage.

ummm Kanye started as a producer before becoming a rapper he produced for Jay Z. He still produces his songs and others artist as well he also writes (most of his songs).
