Combox Install in ATL?
For those of you familiar with Patryk and Bimmertech, I've been considering the upgrade to Combox and all it offers - like BMW Apps, for example. The one thing holding me back is a lack of a local installer. The closest installer is Technic in South Florida, and I'm trying to avoid having to make a major pilgramage down there if I can.
So here's my question/request: does anyone have a recommendation for a top end audio shop that would be willing to become an installer for Bimmertech? I'm not really certain how Patryk goes about qualifying a local installer, but from what I've seen in the other cities (like Dallas), it appears to be someone who is fluent in the tech and credible in the industry. I have no connection with Bimmertech other than as a potential customer - my only agenda is to save myself a long round trip (LOL) - but I think this could become a decent business for a company or an individual. Keep in mind that Technic is an individual with a background in electrical engineering, not a company. He also does fantastic work, as anyone who has read one of his install threads already knows. Point being I think this could be an opportunity for a person, not just a company. Anyway, if anyone has some ideas, please post them! I hope we can find a way to have local installation in ATL, and I think at 5 million+ in population, ATL needs to have this capability locally! |

BSW sounds like a good option. How hard is it to do it yourself?

The install of the hardware is virtually pnp, thanks to the work of Bimmertech in coming up with a wiring harness to tie everything together. The need for a local "dealer" is more tied to the need for updated software and coding. The software in particular is just not something that any random person will have access to, much less be able to load it.

can't you get the "coding" off eBay for a couple hundred bucks?
