Sol Republic Headphones <3

Monster Cable's VP of marketing Kevin Lee (a key figure involved with its Beats by Dre headphone line) has co-founded a new headphone company dubbed Soundtrack Of Life Republic

I bought these a couple days after waiting for them to launch for ever and I'm glad I did. My lil bro has dre beats solo hd I just love the way sounds makes me want to move even if the bass is over powering. For 99 bucks these sound even better and the Hd will be out soon for just another 30 bucks

The beats headphones aren't too bad but they aren't anything revolutionary either. I have a pair of $99 Bose headphones for my Ipod and they are just as good if not better. Then I also have a pair of Grado Labs headphones that cost close to $500, but then again that's a different league, if you want to hear good sound out of headphones, test them out one day if you get a chance.

I had some bose c15 noise canceling.. WHile they were amazing in cutting out noise and very clear they lacked bass and after wearing the solo hd which made me want to dance I noticed they were missing something.

hmmmm Im in the market for a new pair of headphones. I was looking at Beats Solo HD but Im leaning more towards a pair of AiAiAi TMA-1s. How is the range on these...the highs, mids, lows? is the bass strong? I listen to a lot of dubstep and electronic music but I also want to be able to listen to some folk rock and completely opposite genres of music haha

haha. it seems like some people will just stay away from a product associated with monsters. a lot of them are overpriced though but they do make good products. another thing too is that headphones are made for different purposes. so it is not fair that sometimes products get compared when they dont belong to the same category because they are not designed for the same purpose. (in this case, a headphone designed with a genre in mind)

Haha, no shit. Amazing that 99% of the general public buys into their marketing crap.

The other 1% (myself included) buy from monoprice.com

best buy. Hds are 129 not out yet though I will return the regular ones when they come out.

I have the solo hd and these are just as good so i can imagine the Hds.

I tried almost every headphone I could find to test and they have the most bass without destroying the music the mids are a tiny bit low but the hd version should take care of that.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to check them out.

I currently have some Bose Around Ear headphones and they've been good to me for the past few years.

http://www.buy.com/prod/bose-around-...203325096.html

When I initially got them, I thought the bass was pretty heavy, but now, I'm wanting a bit more bass.

Sounds like the SOLs might do the trick.

If you want a real portable headphones, take a look at these

Your ears will thank me latter...

Of course, with a real hi-fi headphones, you probably need something better than crappy mp3 files to listen too...

I don't understand why people buy beats. Far as I can tell, only reason is the hype/brand. Don't think that any of these branded headphones will surpass those made by sennheiser/beyerdynamic since kids will buy them regardless if their 192kb hip hop will 'bang'

I own DT770 pro for home/travel/audio work; they cost me less than dre beats but sound twice as good. Also the most comfortable I've felt. Would have gone for the 880/990 but they are semi-open/open so I can't really use them on a plane. Sennheiser HD600/650 were also great when I tested them, but got a good deal on the beyers.

Also have a cheaper in-ear sony pair to workout/work outside/go to school with. Don't care if they get stepped on/wet/crushed as I'll just buy another pair. And have volume/song/mic iphone control right on the cord; really convenient.
