BMW Financial Services
I got my e90 335 about 10-11 weeks ago and used BMW Financial Services (second time for me). The dealer owed me $700 on an overage of downpayment, I won't get into detail here. Anyway, the dealer said at the time I signed the papers that they would promptly mail me the refund check and even gave me a slip that says "we owe you...". Well, 10 weeks and two phone calls later, nothing from the dealership. No money, no return calls, no nothing. My phone calls to them were very nice, just basically inquiring what kind of a turnaround time I can expect. BTW, my overall experience with this dealership was beyond hell. After two bimmers from them, I am NEVER buying from them again. So, I am not surprised that they never returned my calls.
Yesterday I received a survey from BMW FS. I filled it out online and gave FS good marks but put in my comments my situation with the dealership. Wouldn't you know it, I get a call from the dealership this morning promising me the check would be mailed out this week. Good on BMW FS for taking action so promptly.

Isn't it amazing what kinds of actions those surveys will prompt? You can call and call and not get anywhere, yet give them less than a 5 on anything and they come running! Congrats on getting the situation straightened out

yeah, it is amazing that these surveys matter as much as they do. I am glad we have that avenue at least to voice our displeasure.
The dealership I used was BMW of Fairfax in Virginia. Would you believe, the guy at the dealership tried to discourage me from getting the 335 at first, saying there isn't a big difference between that and the 328?! Then when I test drove both, I said to him, "what the hell are you on about?"

I financed my car back in Feb through BMWFS and I never got the survey( I have already completed my ED). I never got any survery from BMW on any aspect of my purchase. Not that I would give them lower points or anything as my experience was really great but just wondering.
I am bit suprised since when I bought the honda way back I got a survey a week later.

If you have extra comments, be sure to make them, good or bad. I've taken many surveys in my life, and those added text boxes at the end (or online since the Internet) i've always dismissed as "junk" areas where your comments are just dumped and noone ever reads or cares, just a place to rant or vent etc. and the company just takes the numerical responses and loads them in some huge spreadsheet to show the execs how thier customer satisfaction is going where my problem may be swallowed up in an "acceptable" less than perfect margin. Even if I gave them all 1's it will still only knock down the rating .00002% in their entire portfolio. This is not the case with BMW.
I assure you someone (more than likely more than one) will read them if you are submitting them to BMW FS/NA. That doesn't guarantee action or resolution, because every situation is different, but it will be read. -BMW2006 |
