Fuel Pump COMPENSATION Thread - what did you get for your trouble?

Only post if you have a pump that died, and you got BMWNA, or your dealer to compensate you.

If anyone has been compensated for their fuel pump failure, post it, so we can all fight for some cool new toys for the hassle!

Here is what I have so far. Post, and I will add you to this list. Please provide the date your pump died, and your compensations.

RiXst3r: in shop since march 27th
- Free loaner car(328i sedan)(upgraded to 335i sedan april 27th)
- dealer cut me a check for 1 months payment
- said they will consider further compensation. (I am gonna try an get a front aero lip)
- agreed to install front aero lip for free!

91Vette: in shop since march 13th
- full use of a loaner (Z4)
- 2 months of lease payments. (more if it goes longer)

Here is what BMWNA and the dealer have agreed to so far. I should note that my 335i is still in the shop (6 weeks) waiting for the fuel pump.

I have the full use of a loaner (Z4) and they have agreed to 2 months of lease payments. If the fuel pump is not in within another week, BMWNA will consider another month of lease payment.

They booked me in for service in 3 WEEKS!!! (just to get a loaner) So I'm driving a time bomb and the symptoms are getting worse and more frequent. I hope I'm not wearing out my starter motor or ruining anything else.

I had better get some serious compensation for the stress I'm feeling for driving this thing everyday, just praying that the damn thing will start every morning...

I have to wait for 4-6 weeks for my pump plus I was missing an oil cooler and had some heating problems, so my dealer gave me a loaner, and then gave me a collateral exchange.....in other words I signed papers that stopped the lemon law time period from beginning and in return I get a brand new car!!!! For now I am driving a loaner, then when my car is fixed I get to drive that around until my new car comes in and then when the new one comes in, they take mine, and sell it (I assume). I told them I was willing to just get a loaner and get mine back fixed because other than that the car is fine, but they said with the missing oil cooler plus fuel pump, they just patted me on the back and said, "Don't worry about it kid, we'll take care of ya."

LOVE MY DEALER!!!! Its why I bought my car there too, even though they were a bit more expensive, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!

Mentioned the new car approach to my SM. "That guy getting a car, didn't happen in Texas"....uh. He said they can keep you in a loaner for 6 months. It is what it is.

I talked to BMWNA and they told me that the re-payment for lease payments needs to come from the dealership. Is that true?? I know some people have already gotten paid for them. I'm not sure if the dealerships would be willing to give out free accessories AND make payments. I thought that is why they are so quick to offer heavily marked up accessories??

When BMW offers you compensation they also want you to sign an agreement saying you cant sue, claim any negligence, press any charges, join any class action, etc. etc. etc. against BMW going foward. Why would you want to take that risk for 2 payments? What if something happens in a year or in a few months or even w/ the replacement pump. If i were you I would be careful. I decided not to take their offer and hire a lawyer.

Puma results just in. You flunked Mr. fuel pump. I have pump on the way, and oil cooler on the way. She will be there awhile. Went and put her blanky on. Yesterday they gave me a blk/blk X3 3.0 si. One hour was it. Took it back this morning and got in a 328i blk/saddle non sport. I was ok with it after driving back to work. As soon as I sat down I got a call. " We have a red/blk E90 335i step/prem/sport/nav". I was back over there in 5 minutes. I am somewhat happy now. I am going to see if they will cut me a cost + deal on wheels. 189, 199 or 230, I believe those are the nice 19"s.
