Steptronic not working!!
I got into my car today, moved the lever into the sport mode and when I tried to use the manul shifting, the gears didn't change at all with how I was trying to shift. The car shifted them automatically and it's not that I was trying to make odd shifts. It was from stop to 1 to 2 and so on. I haven't used the manual shifting in months, and no errors are showing. Could a glitch in the computer have disabled the manual shift option? Is there a way to reset it? Hoping not to take it to the dealership if I don't have to. Take a week to get the damn appointment.

Try turning off your car then re-starting it.
It seems to fix some ailments. Take it to the dealer as well. I think it stores 50 re-start codes Car runs on Windows... |

Are you sure you are shifting the lever or the paddles in the right direction?

My upshift ability stopped working last night out of no where.... It has been getting hot the past few days in Los Angeles so maybe the glue on the tape surrounding my wires failed and allowed the wires to get caught in the shifter (Exactly what happened actually)
I took the plastic off and took my shifter apart inside the car (Followed the DIY on how to take the shifter mechanism apart) Low and behold a blue wire was broken so I temporarily re-connected that wire (noticed a few others getting ready to go themselves) and it worked again!!! I will be doing it all over again so I can re-wire the whole harness, not tonight (am) cause it will take a bit and that tape-glue is messy as F******. Thanks E90Post-Crew for the write-up and previous troubleshooting. Y'all never let me down. (Glad I did a search first |
