Lease buy-out

Hello there, just wondering if anyone can share their experience when they bought out their lease?

Do you know if the buy-out price is negotiable at all? With the E90 being phased out, will BMW Canada be anxious to get rid of them?

I've done some research on this board, and there isn't much about buy-out. I know BMW inspections are quite hard (they bill you for ever nick and scratch.) I have the wear and tear insurance so I'll see how far that takes me.

I'm still deciding whether to buy it out and looking for any feedback anyone might have.

Highly doubtful that BMW Canada will negotiate the buy out price with you.

+1, Non-Neg.

I bought mine out a few months early and saved some interest charges, but they don't care if you're buying or not. Price won't be negotiated.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. What are the finance rates usually? 8-9%?

If you wish to refi your remaining buyout portion via BMW Finance, they do do that, but when I asked, the rate was like 8%. lol, put it under your home equity line if you can, it's probably prime-ish. Better than their rate.

No negotiation & if you decide to buy it out, call BMW financial and deal with them directly to avoid dealer's fee.

also when we were buying out....they didn't do the inspection so we don't have to worry about any dings/scratches etc....so i think the inspection is only done if your returning the car to them

Right. I'm still debating. Thanks to everyone for their input! I'm also gonna find out what else I can in terms of a line of credit.

just an idea: how about going through the datascan inspection and wait till you're down to 1-2 weeks 'till end-of-lease date before paying-off the car. between now 'till then, bmwfs may contact you offering incentives to take over the car (depending on the market for pre-owned E90s)

even better, you may stumble upon a good deal for a brand new E90 during the year-end clearout.

IIRC, your 335 has the original twin turbos, not the twin-scroll ones... you may opt for the newer model to avoid hpfp issues plaguing N54 engines

Very good point..in fact dealers will be clearing out new E90s as much as possible to make room for the new F30s...in theory this should drive the value of USED E90s a little lower...
